As long as you put everything you need into a tool belt, you don't even need the second person....unless you drop one of the screws.

It will go a lot easier if you make it a two person job. But even one person with a lot of patience and time on their hands can do it.

This is a pretty easy job as long as you have a little upper body strength. The light kits give pretty good instructions on how to add them on. Screw off a plate, connect a few wires, add in a light bulb and you're pretty much done. Adding a separate switch on the wall, however, will probably call for an electrician.

If you don't know how to do it, I'd say look for someone who does. I wouldn't mess with anything electrical, even if the power is cut off. Electricity can be very dangerous if you don't really know what you are doing.

How hard is it to add a light to a ceiling fan? It's a vaulted ceiling, so I'll be working on a ladder.
