Best hurricane shutters?

It depends a great deal on the rating for the shutters. The biggest difference is convenience. Everything else being equal protection-wise, slide down shutters are going to cost more, but be more convenient than metal shutters.

Resistant glass is no substitute for shutters. Either pulldowns or automatic shutters are good -- just don't skimp on the installation.
