I agree, the cost isn't that much more an it's about 10x stronger than acrylic.

Acrylic is cheaper, polycarbonate is stronger. I'd go for ploycarbonate.

I'd rule out glass right away, it's too prone to scratching.

What is the best kind of skylight to add? Ones glazed with acrylic or polycarbonate or glass?
