Difference between wood chips

I can't imagine that there would be -- even the colors seem like they'd match pretty well.

I alwasys use cypress chips in my garden beds. But my neighbor's oak tree lost a couple of big branches in the night and he had them mulched. Are there any problems with using oak chips instead of cypress chips?
