my dad just redid his...definitely be sure that your old downspout drainage system is carrying water far enough away from your foundation. if it isn't, think about modifying it. 10 feet should be the minimum - there are also guidelines for draining near property lines. but no use having nice new gutters if you're swimming in your basement!

I am going to take down our old gutters and put up new ones myself. I have all the materials I need, just looking to see if anyone has any do's or do not's before i start. appreciate any advice.
