Do you do a lot of entertaining? If you do, an oversized oven, stove might be worth it. If you are cooking for four or less, regular sized is probably going to have you covered.

If you are really, REALLY into cooking, then go for it! But if you are more into less cooking and more going out of defrosting, invest on a better microwave and keep a smaller range. That's what I would do! But I'm n ot really into cooking.

Don't get it unless you really enjoy time in the kitchen. Do you really need 6 burners? If not, save your money. Chances are the next homebuyer won't need it either, so it won't boost your selling price.

i know. it's this whole thing of upgrading from standard to the professional chef quality ovens when you go from 30" to larger sizes. when we redid our kitchen, we went for the larger, 6 burner option. but we didn't get a Viking - we got a GE Monogram, GE's professional series. it has all the Viking features and is rated just as highly, according to anyone we asked. and it's at least $1000-2000 less than the Viking, from what i remember. it's working out great for us. one thing we found out when making a purchase - you need to order a slighlty different model depending on whether you are using natural gas or a propane tank. just make sure you get the right one. it's not a price issue, it's just a different model number. enjoy your new stove! it's expensive but looks great and is lots of fun!

We are trying to decide on a new range/oven for our new kitchen. We like the idea of six burners and a larger oven, but there is a huge price jump from four burners to six! It looks like we need to go from a standard 30" to 36" and suddenly prices double, even triple. Is it worth it to get something really deluxe, like a Viking? We want to get everything about this kitchen remodelling project right the first time! Thanks a lot for any advice or suggestions...
