Depending on the climate, you need to be careful about having water standing around. Otherwise you can end up with a ton of mosquitoes and the diseases they carry. Sorry, no idea on rain deflectors.

What about trying to get a PVC to get the water out of there and send it somewhere else? You might even store that water and use it for other things... I would find ways, like to water the plants when is not raining... or even flushing the toilests!

My parents' house has a corner in the front where the water pours down into a flower bed. The water makes a big hole and washes away all the wood chips. My father refuses to put in a drain spout -- the corner is right by the front door, so it would be an eyesore. Our neighbor mentioned adding in a deflector. Does anyone know what they are or where to buy them on line? None of the local hardware stores seem to carry them.
