Yep, you are either going to have to go with a ceiling install or replace the drywall. What a bummer.

Cool. I'd never have thought of a towel rack that installs from the ceiling, but that sounds like your best bet -- just make sure that no one tries to use it for pull-ups.

My brother had the same problem -- we ended up keeping his towels under the sink in a bin.

Have you thought of changing husbands?? Maybe the new one will come with a bigger bathroom... LOL!!! Anyway, I know there are some models that are a lot stronger and you can install them from the ceiling. I saw one in Europe that was very nice. So, I know they exist.

My husband is tough on shower racks. Ours has been pulled out of the wall a half dozen times. Each time, I've patched and remounted a little higher or lower and with longer screws, plus the little plastic dohickies that expand. But I'm out of new spots to remount and the fix seems to get weaker and weaker. Any ideas on a better fix that doesn't involve beating my husband? Remounting in a new location isn't going to work unless we put it in the middle of the mirror. Yes, the bathroom really is that small.
