that's great that you want something energy efficient! look for the Energy Star label on new appliances - it means they meet strict energy effficiency guidelines set by the EPA and the US Department of Energy. I believe all of the major brands - GE, Maytag, Kenmore, Amana, etc. - offer energy efficient options. all it takes is one consumer, one decision at a time, to help save our planet.
