Do you know where they are getting in? If you do, you can put aquarium gravel in the spots where the mice are digging to get in. The hole collapses as the mice dig through the gravel, leaving you with dead mice outside instead of in your walls. Make sure the gravel is about 4 to 6 inches deep. If you have a large area to cover, pick up some pea gravel; it's less expensive.

Here's a cheap home remedy...Rat poison = 1/2 flour + 1/2 plaster of Paris If you have cats or dogs, put the paste inside PVC tubs, that are rat accessible not pet accessible.

We had mice when we were kids, and my father found that the best way to keep the mice out, was to have a "street" cat. He was outside the house all the time, we only put water for him, and he hunted his food, so we got rid of the mice... the good thing was that after that happened, a friend asked if he could borrow the cat, and he kept it in his property.

we have the same issue. someone just told us to fill a bucket with water, put it in the garage, and prop a bit of peanut butter over the bucket so that when the mice try to get it they fall in the bucket, and, well, you know. i'm not one to deal with drowned rodents so i haven't tried this, but hey, if you have the stomach for it, thought i'd pass the tip along. i've also heard that traditional kill traps work better than bait stations because then at least you can dispose of the mouse before the smell starts. i'd love to look into live traps, but i'm not very interested in relocating live rodents either! lol. good luck and write if you find a miracle solution.

any thoughts on keeping mice out of the house? i've used a pest control company that hasn't been effective at all. they put bait stations down, then the mice die in our walls, smell horrible, and still continue to get in the house and leave droppings.
