The other stuff that you are going to want to take into consideration are how much sun an area gets and the type of soil you are planting in.

It absolutely depends on the types of vegetables. Stuff that tolerates the cold well or grows quickly can be planted directly into the ground as seeds. On the chart, that stuff only has a date range. Some stuff has two possible planting times. Those plants have an "or" between the dates on the chart. Other stuff must be started indoors and transplanted. The start indoors date is on the left side of the "/" sign. The transplant date is on the right side of the "/".

You will probably need to adjust to your climate. But once you adjust for two or three plants, you can easily adjust the rest for your area. Tip: Most garden centers will have a chart for your area near the place where they sell seeds.

when should i start a vegetable garden? do i start all the plantings at once, or does it vary per vegetable plant? i'm definitely new to this. thanks for any advice.
