Artisans hand-carve thediscarded root balls of Chinesefir trees into magnificent platters that displaythe character of their parenttrees in unique color variations,knots and small fissures. Each individuallycarved platter follows the contourof the tree's growth rings andholds large servings of bread,crackers, cheese, fruit or sandwiches.Platter is untreated, socosmetic cracks and irregulargrain patterns are normal.Regular oiling with food-gradeoil develops a soft luster with timeand helps preserve the wood.
