PRICE HISTORY
Following a tradition that reaches back to the 17th Century, the blue and white "Canton" porcelain from reorient is cast and fired in traditional kilns. The stark white porcelains are decorated with costal scenery including tea houses, trees, pagodas, mountains, people and flowers in a vibrant blue glaze. The porcelains are dishwasher, microwave and food safe. The technique of using blue cobalt to decorate porcelains originated in china during the Ming Dynasty (1368 to 1644). The Canton dinnerware was especially popular in America in the early 1800s. Today Canton dinnerware is not the exotic finery that it once was. Canton porcelains are more of an "everyday" dinnerware and fit well with many decors. The high contrast coloration makes them perfect for fun summer settings. At the same time the very traditional motif is the perfect fit for a Victorian dining experience. And of course if you want to add a touch of Asia to your own cuisine or table settings, Blue Canton is a classic of the Orient.
