"Terrible, Terrible, Terrible" Date: 8/27/2007
"I think I have a new candidate for the worst piece of **** that I've ever purchased. Some of the other reviewers have done a fine job of detailing its faults. But let me summarize: 1. The thermal carafe does NOT keep the coffee hot. Unless you pour it immediately, you have cold coffee. This is my single biggest complaint. If i hit the snooze button 1 too many times in the morning the coffee is cold. And actually, it isn't even hot enough immediately after brewing. Like one of the other reviewers, I always have to nuke it. 2. Almost impossible to used on a counter under a cupboard 3. You nearly break your thumb trying to pour a drizzle of coffee out of of the carafe. Not for people with arthritis. You really need to take the whole top off. 4. If you want to put certain amount of water, say 6 cups, in the carafe to fill the coffee maker you can't tell how much you've put in. You have to use a measuring cup. 5. When you open up the top of the coffee make soon after brewing a pot, to make another pot or empty the filter for instance, water slobbers all over the counter. 6. Clock is hard to read. 7. Would be nice if the clock could be dimmed. Why burn so much electricity to light up the whole kitchen at night? I could go on, but suffice it to say I'm not a happy camper. Don't waste your money on this thing."

"More than satisfied with this POT" Date: 7/21/2007
"We like this pot. We find that the coffee is plenty hot. Being burned by it is not what we're going for. The coffee is great and we love the thermal pot. The only reason we are giving it 4 stars is because the thumb button to pour the coffee out is a little difficult to push."

"Looks impressive but ISN'T!" Date: 7/19/2007
"When you first open the box you find a sheet of paper stating that to keep the coffee hot you must first fill the carafe with hot water & let it sit for 5 minutes. Then empty the water and brew the coffee.?! You obviously can't do this if you use the delay brew timer function. The best you can hope for is luke warm coffee waiting for you in the morning. Also you have to press a button at the top of the handle to pour the coffee. The button is difficult/impossible to press so the coffee pours at a trickle. The only alternative is to remove the lid & pour. Or just don't buy the darned thing."

"Worked great for a few months then" Date: 7/3/2007
"Read five star reviews from people who bought this coffee maker and had been using it a few weeks. Mine worked great too at the beginning. I would've thought what are all these people complaining about if I had read these reviews the first few months I had this coffee maker. Then all of a sudden I started experiencing the same thing as the others. I am careful not to fill it with too much water. I clean it. I carefully place the filter in it. Just as I have done for months when it worked. Now every time I make coffee I get about three cups. The rest is all over the counter along with grounds. I've had a Braun for decades, never had this problem. Bought this one at Target because I liked the thermal feature to keep the coffee warm. Never did keep the coffee hot. More like lukewarm, just as the other reviewers experienced. "
