"piece of garbage do not waste your money"

"I purchased the 18 inch PRO because it seemed to give the best bang for the buck. I made sure to mix the fuel:oil correctly and avoided grinding down the blade hitting dirt etc. The engine often was hard to start and like the other persons review would stop hot and require a cool off to be capable of starting again. This contunued untill the day it refused to start at all. The total usage was 5 trees cut under 15 feet each over the course of a year and less than 8 hours total running time. I took it to a dealer who found a scored piston, even though the warranty is 2 years poulin would not cover it because they said it was user error. They felt that I held the throttle full to long, overheated the piston and ruined it. I have 2 complaints for that remark 1. Nowhere in the manual does it say that the trigger is not to be fully depressed. 2. Why isnt there a gouvoner on the unit that would not allow it to over rev with a pulling of the trigger. I had to scrap the unit which looked still new, and vowed to never buy another poulin. also, the name suggests "professional" however on the front of the manual it stated OCCASIONAL USEAGE ONLY" which makes me think they are fully aware of what a weak saw this is."

"I would buy this product again"

"Well i got a poulan pro for christmas from my parents and i dont have one problem with mine. If your chain falls off 5 times in 1 hour it just shows you dont know how to run a chain saw or tighten the chain. Also if your nut comes off on the clutch cover you need to learn how to tighten the nuts on the clutch cover up. When I run mine i dont have one licke of problems with it i have cut some wood with it but not alot. When i change my chain i usely check everything before i run it, and i also clean it out and oil the bar so thats prolly why you guys have problems with your. "SO LEARN HOW TO RUN A POULAN OR DONT RUN ONE AT ALL." Justin Proad owner of a poulan pro."

"good price bad design"

"the quick adjust chain system is not well design. the idea is good but it needs work. in one hour of use the chain flew off the bar 5 times. if you can still get the old manuel style stick with it. i took the saw back to lowes for an exchange with the display (old style) and had no problems"

"Cuts well,[...]"
Date:
5/9/2006
"My main complaint is that I lost a nut (through normal chainsaw vibration) while cutting a palm tree. This is one of two identical flange nuts that hold the plastic clutch housing cover and the chain bar in place. The instruction manual does not specify the size of the nuts & I thought it may be 5/16 inch. [...] Therefore, [...] I bought 2 5/16 inch nuts, 1 with 18 thread and the other with 24 thread. Neither one would go in. It appears that it may be a metric size (perhaps 8mm). [...]"
