"My first electric tea experience" Date: 4/16/2007
"Enjoying tea essentially remains: boiling water plus tea equals enjoyment. However boiling water on a stove top or in a microwave became increasingly more work. Plus to repeat for every additional cup a chore. Deciding to purchase an electric kettle to alleviate time I found numerous kettles. . . all with one or more secret vices per customer reviews. Then I realized I did not wish to use my tea bags in my cup. More quandary. Then the answer arose that should I have hot water I needed a brewing pot. Alas as charming as china or fine earthenware are the tea will not stay hot. And I do not drink at a swift pace. So my search continued when in a chance search once again on Amazon I found this item. Hmmmmm. . . a boiling kettle with a brewing pot complete with warming pad. Was this too good to be true? With bated breath and slight unease even with the glowing review, I placed my order. Arriving promptly, I immediately loved the sleek design that did not leave a huge footprint on the counter. The next question. . . would it perform as proclaimed? Having only used it a few times thus far, after all I have only called it mine for 2 days, it performs as advertised. The kettle does indeed heat quickly. Although the heating coils are exposed in the bottom of the kettle, they are almost a work of art concealed within being thick and shiny, seductively coiled. The kettle seats itself upon its power source, thus to heat water one must have intent, a safety precaution. The brewing pot also of good design awaits its water upon its private heating pad. There is a metal filter in which one places the tea until one's brew attains preferred strength then removes. I am sure one could use coffee also or even remove the filter to brew other potions to one's delight. There is separate switch for the pot so one can switich it off should one not need to use it. It's attractive serviceable and works admirably with cool elegance and minimum fuss. What more could one wish? Other than a butler? "

"I LOVE it." Date: 2/13/2007
"I picked this up because I drink a fair amount of tea during the work day. I'd brew tea in very large mugs so I wouldn't have to refill as often but then it would be cold about halfway through the cup. I picked this up in the hopes it would solve my 'dilemna' I have been very pleased. I can brew an entire pot of tea and have it stay almost too hot to drink for up to 4 hours or so. Its still acceptably warm for some time after that. The price tag was a bit steep but I'm am very pleased with it and happy I made the purchase"
