"Nice looking toaster" Date: 9/19/2007
"Looks great on counter as I have all stainless appliances and is easy to wipe down-no problem with streaking; trays are stainless also not plastic; like the warming feature-just wish it remained on for a bit longer; toast can be a bit uneven on both sides but like the product just fine"

"GREAT TOASTER!" Date: 9/11/2007
"This toaster, with its classic design, reminds me of the sturdy appliances we had in our home when I was a child. It toasts evenly, has a special setting for bagels and accomodates different sizes of bread. It is definitely worth the price!"

"Interim Review - 5 stars for Support" Date: 9/10/2007
"I don't care for reviews which knock a product based upon the inability of the owner to use it or based upon the fact that the product was dropped or never showed up. I not only don't care for them, I don't understand them. So I apologize for this review based upon what is - for the time being - a substandard product. This will change when we get the replacement. When we received the toaster, the two center filaments were working about at half-power. The outside of the bread would toast, but the inside did not. Further, we had to turn the setting to "9" to get any toast at all. We called, not Amazon, but KitchenAid, and they profusely apologized and said that we would receive a new one within 10 days (it's been 9 so far) with a prepaid UPS box and label. This is just what our experience with Amazon has been, but in this case, we wanted a replacement, not a refund. Assuming that the new toaster works as promised - and we do assume rather than just hope for it since KitchenAid does make fine products - there is one other problem which you may want to know about , but which KitchenAid said was an anomaly: there were smudges like fingerprints which would not come off no matter what we used and how hard we rubbed. To quote the king in "The Kind and I", is a puzzlement to all of us. Last, keep in mind that this is one LARGE toaster. It actually takes up more room than our old toaster oven. Yes, they gave the measurements, but for anyone who has ever measures and used cuts outs to see how furniture or appliances would fit, it never is quite the same as the real thing sitting on a counter top. This is no toaster for an RV... Ours is a small kitchen, and this toaster did end up looking bigger than the dimensions would make you think, but if you've got the counter space, and it works as promised, my rating will certainly go much higher. Will post a new rating as soon as the new one shows up and works for more than two days. And I'll report on whether the smudges come off as well."
