"It is as good as the other reviewers are saying" Date: 3/8/2007
"A whisk is a simple device, so any differences between good whisks are going to be a bit subtle. That said, the Just-Right stiffness of the wires, the curve and length of the handle, and the weight of the total package is exactly what I was looking for in a sauce whisk. I do not regret spending a couple of dollars extra for something that approaches perfection. If you are looking for a roux whisk, I don't imagine you will ever have any regrets about getting this one. I would not go back to using a balloon whip or French whip for making sauces and reductions after using it; the curve of the handle and the separation of the wires, along with the shape of the head, allow for much greater control than other designs I have tried. It feels like a smaller, more maneuverable whisk, but with the reach of a big whisk. If you need a flat whisk, this is a great one. "

"Best Whisk Ever" Date: 12/4/2004
"I have several different whisks in all sizes, even a larger version of this Chantal whisk, but would rate this one at the top! It is the one I always reach for first as it makes the smoothest sauces and gravies. It is well balanced in the hand and balances nicely on the side of the pan if you lay it down for a minute. My complaint with the larger size is that it doesn't balance well if you lay it down. I like this whisk so much that I have included it with all gifts for my friends and it is a must with all gifts for new brides. And yes I am the Mother of B. Jeffryes who took his first Chantal whisk from him. I wrote this review before I had read his."

"Best Gravy & Flatwhisk EVER" Date: 12/3/2004
"I first purchased one of these for myself. My Mom tried it and promptly made off with it. I bought another two. One for each of us plus a back up if Chantal quits making them. (Yes its THAT good.) To Date, we have probably purchased at least four or five more as gifts and will be doing so again for Christmas 2004. So Why Is This Such A Great Whisk? In a word "Delicate." However, do not confuse delicate with a lack of durability. This unit is small enough for any pot or pan yet the handle is comfortable in any size hand. Where it really shines is in gravy and sauce making. This smaller whisk has thinner wires that spring downwards with each inner loop protruding farther down from the one before. They have exactly the right amount of spring to them to allow for deglasing that will never damage a non-stick pan yet it is still robust enough for heavier jobs too. It is the progressive "springiness" that makes this thing shine. I also have the large 12 or 13 inch flat whisk which I hardly ever use anymore. In short, buy an all purpose balloon whisk for general work. Then buy one of these for all your saucing and gravies. Every person we've given these to as a present has loved them. This is truly one of the most overlooked kitchen utensils I've come across. It's a pity that all the food shows push the latest bizarre whisk of the month. Some I've bought and soon after sold. Yet no one ever promotes this truly useful kitchen gadget."
