"Does not fit every machine" Date: 9/2/2007
"The description says "Stylish attachment converts any KitchenAid stand mixer into an ice cream maker". This is NOT true. I ordered it and it does not fit mixers over 20 years old. I'm sure it would have worked great so I'm giving it 5 stars. Be careful if you have an older model."

"Its ok" Date: 9/2/2007
"I have a swivel head Kitchen Aid, and the way this unit connects is kind of strange. I wasn't always sure I had everything just right. I don't like the fact that I have to freeze the bowl for 18+ hours before using it. I found that if everything is super chilled and the bowl has been in the freezer, then everything works. But if you have more milk/cream, it doesn't aways freeze to what it should be. Its a Kitchen Aid product so I'm happy with it, but I still went out and bought a unit that has a self contained freezer compressor in it."

"fabulous!" Date: 9/1/2007
"I was lucky enough to get this as a "free" addition with the KitchenAid Professional stand mixer I bought here at Amazon. Total price for both was around $230, with free shipping. This attachment is simply wonderful. It's easy to put onto the mixer and the ice cream is just the best. You do have to plan ahead as the bowl needs to go into your freezer for at least l5 hours before you can use it. Plus, if you use a cooked-custard mixture for your ice-cream, that needs to cool completely before churning. I put the custard into a ziplock bag, popped it into the freezer, and it was cool in about 1/2 hour. The churning process takes about l5 - 20 minutes and in that time I had a good 2 quarts of vanilla ice cream with crushed mint oreaos added. We let this cure in the freezer for about 2 hours and it was the best ice cream we've ever had. I can't wait to try all the different ideas others reviewers have posted here."
