"...I bought one for temporary use during a renovation. I thought I would use it for a short period of time and then put it in the basement for occassional use. It turned out to be great. Unless it is brutally hot and humid, it will cool my entire upstairs when set on de-humidify or cool. When placed in two different rooms, one 300 sq. feet and the other 400 sq. feet, it cools (or heats) them very quickly. I also put a new 3M Filtret (TM) sheet on the air-filter every month or so to clean the air. My only complaint is that it is a bit loud, but at night I leave it on in the next room and it does the job in the master bedroom. I am shopping for a second one to use downstairs as well. These have/will replace window ACs."

"This portable ac would not even cool down a room 12 x 15, the lowest it would go was 79 with the temp. outside at 81. I had a repair tech out and even he said in not so many words that these units are garbage.(He couldn't do anything for me). Just spoke to a friend who also got the 12,000 btu unit and he has the same problem, IT JUST DOESN'T DO THE JOB! This was a very costly mistake to make. "
