"I purchased this rotary hammer to drill holes in my concrete pad for anchoring posts. I had some trouble using smaller hammer drills so I figured this would speed up the process. It drilled a clean hole in the concrete w/ no effort. I have only used it once so far, but felt the need to post the review. Vibration was nothing compared to my other drill, and the DH24PF3 was much quieter. I was lucky to pick this up for half price at a big box store clearance sale, but after using it can definitely say it is worth every penny of full price."

"I've use it to make lots of 1/2 inch holes with out any problem in concrete. It also drills in cinder block pretty well. the D handle is really nice for handling however it a little bit long so tool weight isnt really balanced too well. It can get hot so attention need to be payed. how ever handle doesent get how so that good. the chipping is nice for small jobs, i've uses it to clean hollow parts of cinder block when bits get stuck in them. there a locking button very usefull."

"Prior to my actual purchase of this tool I did extensive research on other brands that were in the same price range and this one seemed to have better reviews along with better performance. In actual use it performed as expected especially in the hammer/drill mode in drilling holes in concrete. Very quick, smooth and little, if any vibration through the handle. In switching to the hammer only mode with a flat spade bit it did only an adequate job of breaking up concrete thus it is by no means a substitute for a true demolition hammer. The one thing that I didn't appreciate is that Hitachi has too many models that appear to be very similar in appearance and in the same price range. It made it difficult to actually determine exactly which model I really wanted to purchase"
