"German-made Knipex brand pliers of Cobra or Alligator or lineman or "precision" end stripper design (I own all types and have used some for more than a decade) are nothing special in terms of design or workmanship or materials. The steel is too brittle, the joints are too loose or too weak, and the fit and milling are too mediocre to justify the premium prices this line inexplicably commands. Knipex' fracturing edges, obvious forging die marks, and misaligned cutters have convinced me that American-made Klein or Channellock or even Crescent and Proto products are always preferable. For true mil-spec precision (if that's your line) the Swedish "Lindstrom" line of cutters and pliers is miles ahead of all other current lines in quality."
