"I've used this unit to charge Makita 14.4V pod-style NiMH and NiCads -- so far works just fine. Normally it's best to buy something like this as part of a package -- I needed a replacement for an old 14.4 NiCad charger and this unit had the ability to charge those types as wellas the newer NiMH types."
