"Panini Party"
Date:
9/21/2007
"We recently purchased the Cuisinart Gr-2 Griddler Express and decided to try it out by having our children and grandchildren come over for a Panini Party. It was wonderful, the panini sandwichs made of precooked chicken cutlets with roasted peppers and mozzarella cheese encased in foccacia bread toasted up to perfection. We made a large number of them keeping the already prepared items warm in an oven heated to 175 degress until serving time. An excellent versitle product with limitless usage. T.S Huntington, NY"

"Good, not great"
Date:
8/15/2007
"Good for the price. Great would require restaurant quality. As far as non-removable plates, they are not a negative but a positive. Non-removable plates are generally more sturdy, secure and permanently attached to the heating element. Removable plates generally mean poor heating time and coverage."

"a few drawbacks"
Date:
7/22/2007
"I wasn't paying attention when I bought my grill, and read "non-removable" as "removable" when i glanced at the description. Being able to take off the plates would make all the difference. Cleanup is difficult. When cleaning the top plate, unless you hold onto it as you clean, pulling it forward a bit, there's dripping onto the back of the grill and counter (you can't just let it rest in place). Another small quibble is I can't see the indicator lights when the grill is closed unless I stoop down or lean in over it, and I'm average height. On the plus side, it heats up quickly and evenly, and it's nice to have three heat settings."

"Like it"
Date:
6/30/2007
"I have had a Wolfgang Puck Panini grill with removable plates and I didn't like the way they cooked. The top didn't cook as hot as the bottom so I had to flip things. Also, the plates in the dishwasher tend to rust. I'm going back to non-removable plates. Just a thought for those of you who think they're a good deal. I had a WP also w/o removable plates and the cleanup is worth it to me."
