"Nice for small to medium hands, great feel to it" Date: 7/21/2007
"This little santoku has a great feel to it, with a nicely light-weighted handle. It is great for those with smaller to medium sized hands. It's one of those knives that after you first use it, you wonder how you didn't have one before. Unfortunately the steel they use is a little rust prone! We washed it the first night and let it air dry in the dish rack, as with all our stainless steel items. Only a small area rusted (about 1/4 the area of a dime), so it might just be some quality issue during production. I don't think this is something that everyone would see, but still, I would wash and wipe dry after each use."

"A good starter knife" Date: 6/13/2007
"I was used to living in my bachelor pad where I cut and diced any vegetables I needed with a steak knife because I didn't know any better. The first knife that I bought that wasn't a butter knife or steak knife was this 5" santoku. This knife (around $10) gets the job done and is a good starter "specialty" knife before you graduate to something better. The construction of the knife is pretty solid. The handle is comfortable enough to go through a couple of onions at one time, but I wouldn't want to cut all day with it. The 5" blade is perfect for most applications. However, you will need to sharpen it after every 3-4 uses. The blade itself has a decent weight so you can chop and dice onions, garlic, or other hard vegetables rather well. The blade has held up with no problems (other than normal sharpening requirements) for about 9 months now. Since purchasing this blade I've bought a better, more complete knife set, but I'll still go back to this 5" santoku. For the money, it's a good value...especially if you've never tried any kind of "speciality" knife before. I definitely recommend it for bachelors or people just learning how to cook."

"Great purchase" Date: 1/21/2007
"This is the second Cuisinart Santoku knife I have purchased this year. It works awesome and I have suggested it to friends and family. As a matter of fact, I purchased one as a present for a family member."
