"I have not used this oven extensively as other may have (roasted turkey, cooked 7-course meal, BBQ ribs for 20 people... LOL) but for basic oven use I found it to be very good. Toaster oven heats fast and evenly. The quartz element heating is quite interesting; I don't believe I've ever seen such a heating element before. Quality, sturdy construction except for the door handle which seems a little flimsy and had a "dimple" right in the middle. Not recommended if your countertop space is limited as oven size is very large compared to the typical toaster oven."

"The display did not work on the unit I was shipped. Without the display I could not tell or set the temperature or the time. But I thought it was a great toaster nonetheless, so, after I returned it (postpaid by the seller) I bought another, a slightly different model, the FBC2-12, from another seller. This model does not have the "smart cooking" that the FBC4-12 has, but I decided I did not really need or want that feature. Also the FBC2 has a black chassis, which looks better on my black granite counter top than the stainless chassis of the FBC4. It works great and by having less "smarts" has, I decided, less to go wrong in light of my experience with the FBC4. I have had it now for about a month and I love it -- the toaster, baking and convection oven have all proven excellent and easy to use. And it looks good too. I can recommend both the product and the seller I bought it from -- they gave me no hassle about the return, gave me my money back and paid for the return shipping. But awarding it stars presented a problem since the one I got was defective. But the seller did not know that I am sure when they sent it to me and they responded very well when I informed them of it. So I gave it two stars, but nevertheless recommend both the product and the seller."

"I have had a Black & Decker toaster oven for years. It has never been good at anything other than toasting bread. Then that function started to get erratic. So, I spent hours trying to find the right toaster oven for me. Once I accepted that getting a quality oven was going to cost a little more than a B&D, I narrowed in on the Krups and the Cuisinart TOB-175. I nearly went for the Cuisinart due to the number of positive reviews posted on Amazon. However, while walking thru a store I found one that I could look over in person. The quality just didn't seem to be as good as the Krups. I LOVE the way the Krups FBC4 works. I have used it daily for toast, baked cookies and brownies, roasted sweet potatoes and prepared dinner entrees. Everything except the brownies has turned out great. The brownies were underbaked on the bottom layer and now that I'm more familiar with the oven, I know that lowering the shelf position and bumping the temp a few degrees will produce great results. The toaster oven looks great, is easy to use, easy to clean...in short, it's a keeper!"
