| "Love sanding sponges..." |
Date: 1/2/2005 |
"I use a wide variety of sanding sponges in my box making endeavors(see other review's). These are the general workhorse of that arsenal. They come in a wide variety of grits....100-320...and have a lot of uses. I use them to polish the tops of my stationary power tools before applying the protective "wax". When sanding wood, they allow you to "feel" the surface of the wood better than with a hard block, yet are stiff enough to allow you to sand without "going over the edge". Very critical with mitered corners. You can sand shallow contours and edges, and they are perfect for finishing out contoured wooden hinges. The soft backing material reduces hand fatigue a lot, and you can cut them to smaller dimension's for those hard to reach spots.
You can find these standard type sanding sponges in 10 pks from several suppliers at a lower price than indicated here. Check out Harbor Freight and Klingspor's for a good variety. Keep em clean and they last a long time. Highly recommend."
