"Disappointed" Date: 5/25/2007
"I received this teapot as a gift. I found the removable glass filter cup difficult to clean, little specks of tea leaves were always getting stuck in the "slits" of the filter cup. While scrubbing with an ordinary sponge (attempting to dislodge these specks), the filter cup cracked. I suppose I wasn't surprised, the entire pot is eerily light weight. Something with a little more heft might be a better pick."

"Mine was defective, or maybe just too fragile!" Date: 4/9/2007
"This is a beautiful tea maker and it is convenient to use and easy to clean. The infuser cup allows the hot water to circulate and one can see exactly how strong your brew is getting. All but the smallest 1mm bits of tea leaves are kept within the infuser cup. However, it is hand blown in China and extremely delicate. After the fifth time I used it, I noticed a tiny stess crack where the bottom of the handle joins the pot. I had handled it extremely carefully, and I am sure it was not hit or stressed in any way. Each time I poured boiling water in it thereafter, the crack grew larger. I returned it to Target and stated that I believed it was a manufacturing defect. They refunded my money with no discussion. Maybe yours will last forever, but mine had to be retired after nine uses."

"Tea Time!" Date: 1/23/2007
"I asked for a teapot for Christmas, and received the Bodum De Chine Teapot. I have to admit it wasn't exactly what I had in mind. Not wanting to hurt the person's feelings that gave it to me, I didn't take it back. Instead I decided to give it a try and I am so glad that I did. As far as ease of use, it couldn't get easier. You heat the water up in a Kettle (to almost boiling). Add loose-leaf tea to the glass filter, set that into the teapot, and pour water through. You let it brew about four minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea. Remove the infuser and voila, a great cup of tea. You can use it for hot or iced tea. The filter really keeps the tealeaves out of your cup. It fills about four to five teacups. It's not the prettiest teapot in the world, but I like that it is clear. That's how I know when my tea is ready, by the color. A nice teapot, I couldn't be happier with it or the tea it's making. "
