"Doesn't grind evenly--leaves whole coffee beans behind" Date: 8/31/2007
"This product is not up to snuff by Kitchen Aid standards. The coffee grinder does not adequately grind coffee. It grinds some beans to a fine powder, while leaving other beans untouched. You can't get the grind inbetween, for a French press. In fact, you can't get any size you want uniformly. I usually put in about one inch of beans to grind enough for myself and my husband in the morning. It's disappointing."

"Leaves you wanting" Date: 7/16/2007
"The build quality of this grinder is very high. I would expect this to be a very durable item. However, it's not perfect. Although it is great that it has a unique detachable container for cleaning, it does have a reason to have that feature because the grinder is rather messy and will require frequent cleaning of not only the container but also the body and the counter. Very careful use will help, but you've got to be habitually careful. In addition, like most other grinders, the ground coffee easily gets stuck on the bottom of the container, requiring frequent cleaning by a brush. This is a common problem for the grinders I've seen. Strangely, a very cheap (about $10) coffee grinder I bought about 10 years ago had a smart solution for this problem. It had a small part at the end of each blade extending downward toward the bottom of the container (but without touching the bottom), functioning as a "broom" sweeping the coffee to prevent it from getting stuck on the bottom. After that grinder broke, I have been looking for a grinder with a similar feature but could not find one. This $30 grinder is no exception. "

"Good and Sturdy" Date: 6/8/2007
"Even though there is no adjuster for the type of grind you want, it's still very efficient and does its job well. I like how I just push the top down for it start grinding and let go for it to stop. It didn't take long to figure out how long to hold it down for my desired ground. After I'm done grinding my coffee beans, cleaning it is easy I just twist the metal part off the base and rinse with warm or hot soapy water. I like how the base it is bit heavier so it stays grounded better. I wouldn't go lower than 200 watts for a grinder unless you have a little more time to spare. It grinds my beans fast and fresh."

"Power a plenty!" Date: 5/20/2007
"We've been using this daily to grind 4 tablespoons of whole coffee beans for our press. It chews them up in no time and makes a perfect grind every time. 3 quick hits and we have the perfect grind for our press. As with all KitchenAid appliances, you can feel the difference. Very sturdy and heavy. This baby will last a long, long time if not forever."
