"A great idea by LG" Date: 2/17/2007
"I bought one of these last week and so far I am very happy with it. The microwave works well and is easy to use. The display prompts you with instructions for operation. The coffee maker makes a very good cup of coffee. It takes 5-10 minutes to brew a pot of about six cups. The pot size is about right for me as I am the only coffee drinker in the house. One of the greatest things is that it only uses half the coffee that I was using in my faithful old Bunn coffee maker to make six cups. It came with odd shaped filters but I have found that I can fold standard filters to fit it just fine. The coffee pot is glass not stainless as it appears in some pictures but it is pretty heavy glass and seems sturdy enough. The only negative that I have found is that you can't brew coffee and use the microwave at the same time. Since the coffee maker is fairly fast it has not been a problem for me."

"The carafe is defective" Date: 9/3/2006
"I purchased this item from an appliance store in my city. Though pictured here (and elsewhere) with a stainless steel carafe, it actually comes with a glass pot with a plastic black handle. The carafe has a defect and breaks easily while cleaning the inside due to pressure from a screw attaching a steel rim to the bottom of the pot. I called LG after my first pot cracked, and was told a replacement glass pot would be $56! Because it was still under warranty, they offered me a "one-time complimentary replacement", but I didn't receive it for over 10 weeks (and several phone calls) after that. The same cracking problem occured the first time I tried to clean the second pot (other than just rinsing with water). This time, I noticed that online the pictures seemed to show a stainless steel pot. So I called LG parts to see if I could order the stainless steel carafe, and was told that there is not such a thing. So, although the convenience of having a combo appliance was great, the hassle of replacing a defective, yet highly overpriced carafe every couple of months is not worth it. I feel that this product would be worth it if it actually DID come with a stainless steel carafe, but don't count on it."
