"The Shredding Attachment" Date: 9/29/2007
"I use my Kitchen-Aid 12-Cup Food Processor alot, but rarely for shredding. Today I used the shredding attachment to make cole slaw. While shredding the cabbage, the blade embedded itself into the plastic cover and the shaft in the middle, holding the blade, is now frozen -- I cannot get it off of the center powershaft. I thought, at first, I had done something wrong, but realized that I had followed directions and that the processor was only half full. I called KitchenAid Customer Service and found them very helpful. Without question, KitchenAid is sending me a new unit. I probably will never shred anything again."

"Don't use the shredding disc!" Date: 9/27/2007
"I had the same problem with this machine as others did. If you try to use the shredding disc, it gets jammed on tothe post. I tried everything to get it off: a buff 17 year son, silicon lub, and finally a hammer. Nothing worked. I had to throw it out and it was only 1 year old, if that. It also made a huge mess as it leaked under the rim of the bowl with everything. It does have a very nice motor and is fairly quiet but extremely frustrating. I had a Cuisinart that lasted over 20 years, I think I am going to go back to them!"

"Excellent product" Date: 9/22/2007
"I got this from amazon and wasn't able to use it for the first week. Then when I did, I had to call Kitchen Aid. They are very helpful and polite. They answered a lot of questions. The book that comes with it could be a little better is the only complaint I might have. Other wise, this is a great machine! Just be very careful with the blades-THEY ARE SHARP! I have cut myself twice on them. I discovered the bowl must "stretch some" after you have it a while as the large multi blade would not work in mine so they said they will send me another one (they are on back order), but I have used the smaller one and it worked great, so I decided to try the big one again just to see and -guess what?-it works! It doesn't take too long to do things either. You do need to put cheese in the freezer for an hour or so before shredding though-It would work better then. The only thing I would suggest for Kitchen Aid to improve on is maybe somehow number the different attachments so we would know for example the two shredders and two slicers are hard to tell the size difference. I am still experimenting with mine and have no complaints yet, other than it is larger than I thought it would be but that really isn't a problem. I have hand washed things and also put them in the dishwasher and they came out great! I highly recommend this item!"

"quiet, powerful & easy to use" Date: 9/7/2007
"This processor is so easy to use, my 8 & 9 year olds were able to make a cheesecake following the recipe that came with it! It was delicious! It is very powerful and quiet compared to other processors I have. I enjoy the mini bowl insert. Great for making quick bowl of salsa or chopping up celery for potato salad."
