"Great machine" Date: 9/21/2007
"Hello. I would like to add my 2 cents for this machine. I have had the machine for about a year. I did not know what coffee tasted like until I brewed my first cup of coffee from this machine. Wonderful. It was hot, aromatic, and most of all, delicious. I have only one concern and that is the carafe: the plastic handle part has become unglued and is cracking. It has never been in a dishwasher as I wash it by hand. Other than that, a great machine with truly great tasting coffee. I hope you will enjoy it as much as we have!"

"Worth it" Date: 8/24/2007
"We purchased this Capresso model for Christmas about 4 or 5 years ago. It finally breathed its last this month. Our experience with it has been really good overall. The good It makes a great cup of coffee (we buy Starbucks brand beans and grind them ourselves immediately prior to brewing), looks good on the counter. Nice, hefty thermal carafe that came with it was great. The bad Takes up a large chunk of premium counter space. Cannot be placed under low kitchen cabinets due to its height and the fact that the water container needs to be lifted straight up in order to take it out from the back of the machine. This problem can be solved if you place it close to the kitchen sink that has a built-in water hose spray. This way, if the coffeemaker won't come to the water, the water will come to the coffeemaker. The pause & brew feature quit working almost immediately, not sure why. The coffee would continue brewing and dripping everywhere so we simply stopped removing the thermal carafe until it was done. The frothing attachments were used with enthusiasm for about... a month.. It took too much effort to clean the small plastic pipes and remember to flush the steel pipe with water inside and out before the milk froth became a permanent & scorched decoration on it. I've read of coffee overflows on counter tops from multiple reviewers and I'm happy to report that in the time we owned it, it happened a total of zero times. Not that we were very careful with how we placed the carafe back. We were not gentle with the unit at all. It's been through two moves with us, handled roughly due to lack of caffeine in owners veins and used every day of its life. Aside from infrequent flushing of the system with vinegar solution, I don't think we changed the water filter in it more than once or twice and it may have been the cause of death of this machine. My story (and I'm sticking to it) is that the set of pipes hidden in the housing connecting the water reservoir and the heater got really calcified as it suddenly one day stopped brewing the coffee and started sputtering hot water back into the water reservoir. Resuscitation was attempted with vinegar but to no avail. We finally had to pull the plug on it. At the moment, we are in between coffee makers but likely to purchase another Capresso model. "

"The best Coffee/Esspresso Machine ever" Date: 5/15/2007
"I bought this coffee machine about a 2 months ago, and it has been used everyday since it arrived. I love the milk frothing part, it builds up enough steam to be able to froth the milk in just secords. It also only takes about 2 or 3 min to make a whole pot of coffee. I was worried that because it had no warming plate the coffee would get cold quickly, but one day I made coffee at about 7:30am and at 7pm that night the coffee was still warm enough to drink. I made hot chocolate in it, and that was wonderful!!! This is great if you have kids! My son really enjoys the hot chocolate. I would love to buy another to have at work too! I would recommend buying it. You will love it!"
