"Possibly dangerous" Date: 8/23/2007
"I bought a a few packs of these at Costco to replace some recessed lights in my living room. Of the seven I installed a few months ago, three have since stopped working, and one of those failed quite spectacularly, making me glad I had a fire extinguisher handy. The remaining lights are pleasingly bright once they're warmed up, but that "warm-up" period takes several minutes, during which the lights are so dim as to be useless. It makes it essentially pointless to flip the lights on for a few moments to look for something. Between that and the possible fire hazard, I've removed all of these lights and am looking for alternatives."
