| "Great, but limited by the feed tube" |

"These are great discs for the food processor. They are sharp and work well. The problem is really that the machine they fit has a small feed tube. I e-mailed KitchenAid and asked them to sell a separate replacement lid with a wide-mouth feed tube to really take advantage of the french fry disc, and others. They said they have no plans now to do that but always try to evaluate and meet their customers needs on an ongoing basis.
On the other hand, the french fry disc is great for dicing fruits and vegetables--tomatoes, peppers, onions, strawberries, etc. When you can't just process things because the pieces get too small, this disc is wonderful. The ice/parmesan disc is for harder foods that you would normally grate manually, like ginger or parmesan. Theoretically it would work for lemon zest, too, but I haven't yet worked out how to that well.
The discs are worth getting. But go ahead and E-mail KitchenAid and request they make a replacement lid with wide mouth for your processor. If the feed tube were larger the discs would be even more useful.
